New update for Nokia 8 brings October security patch

Just yesterday, HMD rolled out Android 7.1.2 Nougat to the mid-range Nokia 6, bringing with it the latest security patch, system stability improvements and UI enhancement.

Now a similar update has been rolled out to the company's flagship Nokia 8, but it's not Android 7.1.2. The update weighs in at 295MB and includes Android patches for October, along with UI enhancement and system stability improvements.

If you've not been notified about the update yet, you can check it manually by going to Settings>About Phone>System Update.

HMD has already promised to push Oreo for Nokia 8 before the end of this month.

To recap the specs, the Nokia features 5.2-inch QHD display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection, Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, dual 13MP Carl Zeiss camera, 13MP selfie camera, USB Type-C port and 3900mAh battery. The phone will hit Indian market tomorrow, October 14, carrying a price tag of Rs. 36,999. It will be available online on Amazon India, as well as offline stores.
