Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 concept shows of bezel-less design

Xiaomi has already confirmed that it will launch the bezel-less Mi MIX 2 smartphone before the end of this year. Like its predecessor, the Mi MIX 2 will be designed by French designer Philippe Strack. And now the designer has shared a concept video of the phone, which is most likely a prototype, and the final design would look different.

The video shows that Mi MIX 2 will have even more slimmer bezels than its predecessor Mi MIX, especially at the bottom. The Mi MIX had a screen to body ratio of 91.3 percent, but Mi MIX 2 is said to boast 94 percent screen-to body ratio.

Even though the bottom bezels of Mi MIX 2 is trimmed down, it still houses the camera sensor. The absence of the earpiece suggests that the phone will most likely utilize Cantilever peizoelectric ceramic acoustic system instead of standard earpiece, just like Mi MIX. The video also shows USB Type-C at the bottom, along with two speaker grilles.

Earlier reports have suggested that Mi MIX 2 will have curved AMOLED display instead of Mi MIX's LCD display, and the sensors for fingerprint scanning will be embedded under the display. As for the hardware, the Mi MIX 2 is rumored to comes with Snapdragon 835 processor, up to 6GB RAM, up to 256GB storage, dual-camera setup (2 x 16MP sensors), 13MP front camera and 4500mAh battery.

The Mi MIX 2 is expected to be unveiled sometime in October.
